Oh My Pizookie!!!

Since we are still celebrating the month of LOVE,
I would like to talk about another thing I just love...FOOD!

Love to eat it, hate to cook it.

Pizookie
One of the first things I did when Michael proposed to me, was tell him that I was NOT a good cook at all. He laughed and said "I'm sure you're just being modest, you can't be that bad."

And then he ate my first "homecooked" meal after we were married... Two weeks later a subscription to Kraft magazine arrived in the mail. Michael said he just wanted to provide me with more
variety, but I got the hint.

But really, I don't see the problem with my less than mediocre cooking. Michael was loosing tons of weight and we always had plenty of leftovers!

Looking back now, I'm not really sure how we survived. You know it's bad when your husband comes home with a "surprise" which actually turns out to be a cookbook. I had my misgivings, but decided to give it a try, and oh my!

Without further ado, let me introduce you to the amazing book that saved our marriage...and our receding waistlines...

Our Best Bites
LOOOOVE this book!
~Every recipe I have tried has turned out great!
~The directions are easy to follow and there are pictures on every page! (For an amateur cook like me, that's very important because I need to know what the finished product is suppose to look like.)

Some recipes called for things I had never heard of, but I tried them anyways and it was totally worth it!!

And don't even get me started on the desserts! I made the choclate mousse cake for a family function and to this day NO ONE believes that I made it, let alone from scratch.

Just a few tips I've learned about cooking:

1. Cottage cheese is best with peaches not in lasagna

2. It might not actually be possible to burn water, but it is definitely possible to burn the bottom of the pot the water is in after the water evaporates.

3. Undercooked chicken might make you sick but overcooked chicken is almost impossible to chew and even harder to digest.

4. ALWAYS make sure you have a fire extinguisher handy and know how to use it! (not that I've ever had to do this or anything...)

5. Powdered sugar can easily be confused with flour.

6. Sometimes, if you do it just right, you can "accidentally" mess dinner up just enough that your husband will either a) take pity on you and fix dinner that night, or b) just take you out to eat.
